Plastics are popularly known as synthetic resins. PVC’s most suited acronym is Poly Vinyl Chloride. PVC Resin is a durable and suitable material for the purpose of plastics and rubbers productions. When we talk about synthetic resins then we must know that there are two different categories of resins which are thermosetting resins and thermoplastic resins. The thermosetting resins are not capable of melting or re-softening which makes them different from thermoplastic resins. Thermosetting resins include phenolic resin and melamine resin which allows it to stay hard because these materials are thermally hardened. Therefore, they cannot be re-softened.
The thermoplastics resins have the property that allows them the capability of re-softening. Thermoplastic resins commonly include PVC, polystyrene (PS), polyethylene (PE), and polypropylene (PP) compounds which are the main reasons of its ability of getting re-softened by heating.
